A stunning French Charles X period patinated bronze and gilt clock. The scene of a large dog saving a small child. The 8 day movement stamped Pons having silk suspension, strikes the hours and half hours on a bell. The silvered sun burst dial with Roman numerals and blued steel moon style hands. The ormolu case of very high quality.

Pierre-César Honoré Pons was an important clock-maker, who is recorded as being active in Paris from 1807-50. Honoré Pons was trained by Antide Janvier, the royal clockmaker to King Louis XVI.
