An unusual French 19th Century silver and gold lacquer four glass mantle clock. The 8-day movement stamped Marti Paris, strikes the hours and half hours on a bell. The white enamel dial having Roman numerals and a visible Brocot escapement with red jewel pallets. The high quality case with polished and gold lacquer finish and heavy bevelled edge glass.

Samuel Marti was one of the prolific French clockmakers of the 1800s and was known to be working circa 1860 at Le Pays de Montbeliard in Paris.
